Focus Izalco Max 8.7 – High-quality pacesetter at an entry-level price
The Izalco Max focuses on the essence of a road bike: explosiveness, efficiency, and aerodynamics. Thanks to the razor-sharp carbon frame, whose profile has been optimized in the wind tunnel according to NACA standards, you'll beat the headwind hands down. Seconds gained that you'll gladly take with you in the hunt for trophies. German manufacturer Focus has pooled all its experience from professional racing to build a racer that encourages you to get the most out of your body. In competition, during training, with friends or alone against the wind.
In version 8.7, the Izalco Max comes with the reliable Shimano 105 groupset, which has recently been visually modernized and technically upgraded to 2 x 12 gears. Typical of Shimano, there is hardly any difference in function compared to the higher-ranked Shimano groupsets. The hydraulic 105 disc brakes are among the most robust and maintenance-friendly brakes on the market. An aero carbon seat post and lightweight DT Swiss R500 wheels with Vittoria Zaffiro Evo tires complete the package.
Focus Bikes – synonymous with well-designed and durable bikes
The highlight of the Izalco Max is its Carbon Technology frame. Thanks to the clever placement of carbon mats on the seat tube, head tube, seat stays, and bottom bracket, the frame is laterally stiff but absorbs vertical vibrations. A perfect balance between stability and comfort. The geometry guarantees safe handling at high speeds. Thanks to the thru-axle system, the wheels sit 100 percent precisely in the dropouts after every installation and removal. And the brake discs are guaranteed to run without rubbing between the calipers. The frame and fork are a prime example of clear, uncluttered design. With the help of the C.I.S. system developed by Focus, the cables run from the stem inside the frame to the components and even through the fork legs to the front brake. You can also change the stem without having to open the brake lines.
