With 160 millimeters of suspension travel at the fork and 150 millimeters at the rear, the chassis is superior over any terrain. The RockShox suspension elements are always unobtrusive and well-balanced. Once in the saddle, everything is open to you, from flow trail to alpine crossing. Because the InTube battery goes with 625 watt hours capacity the air is not so fast. In typical Trek fashion, the Rail stands out from the mainstream with some clever special features: for example, the rear bearing point of the rear triangle sits not as usual in front of, but in the center of the wheel axle. This trick ensures superior stiffness at the start. Furthermore, the lateral access to the battery compartment on the down tube is unusual and above all practical. Rarely before has a battery been easier to remove in daily use.
