The Madone SL 5 Gen 8 is a lightweight aero road bike that makes elite race technology affordable. It offers similar aerodynamic advantages to the higher priced Madone SLR Gen 8, but is based on a more affordable 500 Series OCLV carbon layup and a two-piece cockpit with internal cable routing. Its race geometry ensures high speeds when sprinting and superior control on fast descents. A mechanical Shimano 105 groupset keeps the price within manageable limits, but impresses with clean, reliable shifting performance. The combination of an aero frame, lightweight construction (approx. 8.7 kg) and race-oriented geometry delivers aggressive, responsive handling – ideal for sprints, fast climbs and efficient riding over long distances. IsoFlow smooths out bumps in the road and maintains power – even on demanding routes.

Frame details

The frame is made from 500 Series OCLV Carbon, designed for outstanding aero efficiency thanks to the revolutionary Full System Foil tube profiles. This shape significantly reduces drag while also saving weight – true superbike technology in the mid-price segment. Includes IsoFlow seat tube for improved vertical compliance and greater comfort – perfect for long climbs and intense races. The frame also offers state-of-the-art features such as an internal cable routing system, T47 bottom bracket, flat mount brake mount and thru axles (142 × 12 mm rear, 12 × 100 mm fork).
