The FX Sport 5 is a carbon fitness bike for anyone who wants to combine the speed of a lightweight road bike with the comfort and control of a flatbar bike. Its high-quality drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes and tubeless-ready wheels make it perfect for solo training laps, fast group rides and a variety of other uses. The Trek FX Sport 5 belongs to a new generation of sporty trekking bikes that are similar in character to a road bike in many respects. However, because its range of use is more versatile, it is also referred to as a hybrid bike. The lightweight, slim frame, which is even made of carbon on the FX Sport 5, is derived primarily from the road bike. However, the riding position on the FX is noticeably more comfortable, not least due to the straight handlebars. This is also equipped with the new, vibration-damping IsoZone material. Rolling comfort is ensured by 40 mm wide tyres, which can also cope with the odd gravel section. Threaded eyelets discreetly integrated into the frame significantly extend the range of use. For example, the FX Sport 5 can be converted into a fast commuter bike with a pannier rack and mudguards. Another practical feature is the Blendr system developed by Trek for attaching lights, bike computers, smartphones and other accessories to the stem in no time at all. No more rickety screw clamps or ugly cable ties. The main upgrade compared to the FX Sport 5 is a higher quality drivetrain with Sram Apex 1 components.

Trek OCLV Carbon - The benchmark in lightweight construction

The OCLV Carbon developed by Trek has been a household name on the scene for over 25 years. There are now different series for the bike classes, from mountain bike to road bike. The FX 5 Sport uses the 400 Series OCLV, which offers maximum performance at an affordable price. However, it is not the lower weight alone that distinguishes a carbon frame from an aluminium frame. Rather, carbon fibres offer better opportunities to improve the stiffness at neuralgic points quite specifically. Or in contrast to increase the flex at other points for more riding comfort. In general, a carbon frame is able to soften peaks of violent impacts and reduce vibrations. This makes this material so ideal for bikes.
