The Fuel series enters its fifth generation in 2023 and is thus already almost a classic in the Trek program. The success of this fully is based not least on its versatile range of use. Trek sends the Fuel EX 7 into the race as a trailfully, but it can do much more. With 140 millimeters of travel in the front and 130 millimeters in the rear, its chassis offers plenty of potential for riding fun on almost any terrain. We would characterize the Fuel as an all-rounder, with a focus on trail riding. Whether whimsical after-work round, extended weekend tour or alpine cross. A Fully, with which many bikers can be happy. The medium suspension travel makes the ride not too spongy, so the Fuel always feels responsive. The broadly supported hubs with Boost standard also contribute to the stiffness. In the EX 7 version, the Fuel comes with some upgrades that are worthwhile: Air-sprung RockShox 35 Gold RL fork, Fox Performance Float shock, Sram NX Eagle 1 x 12 drivetrain and proven Shimano Deore disc brakes. Plus, Tubeless-Ready wheels with voluminous 2.6-inch tires add comfort, traction and puncture resistance. Super deal: a standard telescopic seatpost.
The US manufacturer Trek is one of the pioneers in the processing of aluminum frames since the eighties. You can therefore rely on a huge know-how. And of course, a frame like the Fuel is constantly being developed over the generations. The Fuel EX 7 uses the high-quality Alpha Platinum aluminum. First-class processed and lightweight. In addition, there are harmonious details such as down tube protection, internally routed cables and a tapered head tube. The Knock Block steering stop prevents the frame from being damaged in the event of a fall. With the help of the Mino Link, a rotatable mini eccentric on the rear rocker, the steering angle can be changed by 0.5 degrees. This influences the driving behavior in the direction of maneuverability or smoothness. Clever: To ensure that all riders can enjoy the optimum seating position and geometry, Trek matches the wheel diameter to the frame size. That's why the XS frame comes with 27.5-inch wheels and the higher models (S to XL) with 29-inch. In addition, the smaller frame sizes have a downward-curved top tube, resulting in a particularly low standover height.
