Measurements in the wind tunnel have long been part of everyday life for professional road cycling teams. And not just for the discipline of time trials, where special machines are used. But also for the race bikes used in day-to-day business. After all, an aerodynamically optimized bike generally brings a speed advantage. With a model from the Orca Aero series you can also enjoy these advantages. Orbea has developed an uncompromising racer, in which not only the frame, but all relevant components have been designed for the lowest possible air resistance. The perfect balance between the factors of aerodynamics, stiffness and low weight. Add to this the exceptional ergonomics of the new OC cockpit, which also comes from the Orbea laboratories. The handlebars act like the wing of an airplane. In addition, the ICR Plus system ensures that the cables are routed below the stem into the head tube and run completely invisible to the circuit and brakes. A prime example of perfect integration.
In the version M21 eLTD comes the Orca Aero with the electric Force AXS group of the US manufacturer Sram. These components of the upper class inspire with 100% precise gear changes, wireless transmission of the switching impulses and shift / brake levers with sophisticated ergonomics. A real eye-catcher is the crankset with elaborately milled chainring in grid structure. In addition, the crank is prepared for an upgrade with the Quarq Powermeter system for power measurement. Lightweight Oquo Team wheels with carbon rims make this aero machine perfect.
At the heart of the Orca Aero is the unique OMX monocoque frame, where every angle, corner and transition has been thought out in detail. All to ensure as little air turbulence as possible. The bladder molding process is used in the manufacturing process. It ensures that there are no wrinkles or unevenness in the carbon mats, so that as little raw material as possible is always used. The geometry is fully geared towards the Race application area: Shorter wheelbase and chainstays provide agility and acceleration. The reduced overhang and bottom bracket height improves aerodynamics. The toolbox in front of the bottom bracket is not only practical, but helps to divide the airflow. The razor-sharp carbon seatpost is an essential part of the frame more than on other road bikes.
