With its striking design, the aluminum frame even stands out pleasantly from the uniform look of many competitors. The silhouette appears tidy and straightforward. You only see - if at all - that the Optima E40 is an e-bike at second glance. This is due to the compact Mahle drive system with rear-wheel hub motor and a battery that, at around 250 watt hours, provides just the right amount of power for everyday use in the city. Because that's exactly what the Optima E40 was designed for from the ground up. To enable comfortable ascending and descending, the step-through of the frame is not only low, but also horizontally spacious. Stress-free pedaling is ensured by the good-natured geometry combined with a high front end and curved handlebars. The rigid fork provides driving stability, which is particularly noticeable when the bike is loaded with luggage. Equipment: The Optima E40 comes with uncomplicated Shimano Deore derailleur and low-maintenance Shimano disc brakes. The StVZO equipment includes the lighting system, chain guard, side stand, mudguards and luggage rack.

Lightweight and inconspicuous Mahle hub motor

The Mahle X35 Plus drive belongs to the modern generation of hub motors that accelerate the e-bike quickly and almost silently. An elegant and inconspicuous alternative to the mid-mounted motor. The Mahle system weighs just 3.5 kilograms including the battery. And in off-mode, the drive runs as smoothly as a bike without an electric motor. In combination with the slim battery, the Mahle system is a perfect symbiosis of power and weight.
