Cannondale SuperSix EVO Hi-MOD 2 - Re-treaded: The high-end version of the aero all-rounder
In the Supersix EVO series, the US manufacturer Cannondale focuses on the best possible aerodynamics in conjunction with good all-round properties. To realize this combination, Cannondale has played out all its know-how in the new development of the SuperSix EVO. Because to build flat tube profiles, which are also light, is a real challenge. Measurements in wind tunnels have long proven that good aerodynamics bring many time credits. On a flat course, however, weight plays a subordinate role. The SuperSix EVO, on the other hand, is not only fast on the flat, but as an all-rounder it can also keep up with the best on the mountain.
The main frame weighs just 770 grams at size 56 centimeters! A real declaration of war. According to the test results, the SuperSix EVO comes close to a flawless time trial machine in terms of efficiency. And the faster you go, the more you benefit from the aero advantage. At the same time, Cannondale has also placed great emphasis on ride comfort. Because if you feel physically comfortable, you can sit longer in the saddle. Here Cannondale makes use of the self-damping of carbon. On the other hand, the frame can absorb vibrations thanks to the low-set rear triangle, so that they do not arrive in full intensity at the driver or the driver.
Carbon frame, extremely light carbon wheels and the electronic Ultegra Di2
The Hi-MOD version of the SuperSix EVO goes one step further towards perfection. For example, with the incredibly lightweight HollowGram R-SL 50 wheelset. It was developed together with the new SuperSix frame and brings the aerodynamics of this race bike again to a new level. With 50 millimeter high rims, of course Tubeless-ready, and knife spokes that cut through the air almost without resistance. The electronic Shimano Ultegra Di2 2 x 12 shifting guarantees 100 percent precise gear changes with minimal finger force. From the market leader Shimano also come the low-maintenance hydraulic Ultegra disc brakes. On the front wheel, a large 160 mm disc ensures that you get from any alpine pass also safely back into the valley. The brake lines run from the levers completely inside the handlebars, stem and frame, so that neither cables nor cables disturb the elegant design of the frame. Another highlight are the other carbon parts such as handlebars and seatpost. Not to be forgotten: The first owner of a SuperSix EVO has a lifetime frame warranty after registration with Cannondale.
