Among all our brands, Santa Cruz occupies a very special position. Admittedly, the high-quality bikes from the legendary US manufacturer have their price. But sometimes it has to be high-end. And one thing is for sure: You will definitely not be disappointed by a Santa Cruz. The geometry of the Nomad was recently completely revised, so that it not only makes a good figure as a pure competition enduro, but also as a trailfully really fun. So all good? Yes. But it gets even better. Because for the 2023 season, the Nomad 6 C/S comes with another small update: a mixed wheelset with a 29-inch front wheel and 27.5-inch rear wheel is now standard. This ensures more smoothness when rolling over obstacles at the front and better acceleration and less sprung mass at the rear. The suspension travel, however, remains unchanged at 170 millimeters. In terms of workmanship, Santa Cruz bikes are in a league of their own. As mentioned, this level has its price, but in return the manufacturer grants a lifetime warranty on frame and bearings. In the S-Kit version, the Nomad 6 comes with Fox 38 Float Performance suspension fork and RockShox Super DeLuxe Select shock. Plus a Sram GX Eagle 1 x 12 drivetrain and lightweight Sram Code R brakes with 200 discs front and rear. Of course, a telescopic seatpost is also mounted from the factory.
What makes the Santa Cruz Fully frame so special is the special lower-link kinematics. This is a double joint that allows the swingarm to rotate around a virtual pivot point. A highly efficient technology that almost completely eliminates annoying bobbing when going uphill. In addition, platform damping can be activated on the damper, which moderately counteracts the chain pull. The interplay of these factors ensures that the 170 millimeters of suspension travel are fully available, but still remain controllable. Sensible details on the frame help to protect the noble carbon: Below the bottom bracket, as well as in the upper area of the down tube, two rubberized protectors ward off stone chips. And even below the main joint on the rear triangle, a small protector lets pointed projectiles bounce off. The cables do not run loosely inside the frame, but in their own piping. Everything from the finest, as not otherwise expected from Santa Cruz!
