Santa Cruz is perhaps one of the last cult forges in the mountain bike cosmos. And not least for the casual American spirit, the original idea of mountain biking. The Megatower is positioned in the Santa Cruz line-up as a downhill bike. But it can do more than just roll downhill! Thanks to a balanced geometry with a relatively steep seat angle, you can ride the Megatower on one or two tours. And the 165/170 mm chassis is tighter than expected when pedaling thanks to the unique VPP kinematics. But the Megatower plays out its true strengths when the trail plunges into the vertical. Or in the bike park and on enduro races.

With the Megatower 2 CC X0 AXS you get a superior carbon frame and equipment of the finest. Starting with the noble chassis with hand-picked RockShox and Fox Factory suspension elements, to the radio-controlled Sram X0 Eagle AXS circuit. The drivetrain works with the new T-Type technology (transmission), in which the rear derailleur sits directly on the rear triangle or on the thru axle of the rear wheel. This means that defects such as a bent or even torn off derailleur hanger are a thing of the past. In addition, Sram Code Silver Stealth hydraulic brakes with 200 discs and Industry Nine / RaceFace wheels. Here, everything just fits.

Santa Cruz CC Carbon Frames - The Crown of Carbon Processing

Santa Cruz manufactures the carbon frames in two quality levels, designated as C and CC Carbon. However, there can be no talk of "better" or "worse" here. The bottom line is that the C Carbon is slightly heavier than the CC Carbon processed in the Megatower. What makes the Santa Cruz Fully frame so special is the special lower-link kinematics. It is a double joint that allows the swingarm to rotate around a virtual pivot point. Hence the name VPP (Virtual Pivot Point). A highly efficient technology that almost completely eliminates annoying bobbing when going uphill.  The rear triangle comes standard with 165 millimeters of suspension travel. When installing a shock with 65 mm stroke (instead of 62.5), however, you can tease out 170 millimeters. In addition, the kinematics are compatible with steel spring and air shocks, depending on your preferred riding style. The Santa Cruz developers make sure that every driver / rider comes to enjoy the optimal driving and climbing characteristics. Thus, the seat angle is steeper with increasing frame size and the chainstays longer. This high level admittedly has its price, but for this the manufacturer grants a lifetime warranty on frame and bearings.
