Orbea Terra M30 Team - entry into the Terra Carbon series, plus upgrades to the equipment

Gravel biking exudes a great fascination. And once you've tried it, you'll never let it go. That's a promise! Road cyclists and mountain bikers alike love to rediscover their territory on a gravel bike. Sporty and fast, but still able to turn off onto the next dirt track at will.  Beat the traffic and enjoy nature more intensely. You can even incorporate easy single trails into your new laps. Or get yourself some minimalist panniers and take your gravel bike on a long ride. Bikepacking is the keyword. More variety is not possible. And that's exactly what Orbea has developed the Terra for, either with an aluminium (H series) or carbon frame (M series). The geometry has been specially designed for gravel biking, drawing on Orbea's wealth of experience in professional cycling.

In the M30 Team version, the Terra comes with a clever mix of Shimano GRX RX610 and RX820 drivetrain components. Shimano has developed the GRX groupsets especially for gravel use. The 2 x 12 drivetrain functions reliably and precisely even under extreme off-road conditions. The tightly suspended rear derailleur absorbs vibrations and keeps the chain under tension at all times. Shimano's hydraulic disc brakes have always been among the best in terms of performance and ease of servicing. Another Orbea trademark are the OC components developed in the company's own laboratories, which are used on the cockpit. For example, the OC Gravel handlebars with optimised top link position for a more relaxed riding position.

Gravel-optimised carbon monocoque frame

Orbea manufactures its carbon frames in two quality levels.The M30 Team uses the somewhat more robust OMR carbon for gravel applications.The bladder moulding process ensures that there are no creases or unevenness in the carbon mats during production.This is because Orbea is keen to use as little raw material as possible.The bottom bracket and head tube areas have a particularly elaborate design in order to achieve an optimum balance between stiffness and comfort.A special feature is the Lockr storage compartment in the down tube, ideal for a small puncture repair kit and mini-tool. The Terra frame also offers the greatest possible versatility when it comes to wheels and tyres. If the classic 700c gravel wheels with tyres up to 45 millimetres wide are not comfortable enough for you, you can alternatively fit 650b wheels (27.5 inch) with tyres up to 50 millimetres wide. This means that the Terra is almost poaching in the territory of cross-country mountain bikes.
