One of the answers was the introduction of electronic shifting, which has now evolved from fiction to a technically mature must-have for ambitious racers. And for the manufacturer Orbea, which has been involved in racing for many years, another building block to the perfect racing bike. Because the Orca series was developed to exceed limits. This is also noticeable in the geometry, which combines aggressiveness, aerodynamics and efficiency with the help of a shortened stack (protrusion height) and extended Reachs (horizontal distance to the head tube / stem). Add to this the exceptional ergonomics of the OC cockpit, which was also developed in the company's own laboratories. With its special shape, the handlebar helps to relax the shoulders and neck. Below the stem, the cables run invisibly into the head tube and further through the frame to the circuit and brakes. The ICR Plus system is a prime example of clean integration. This also includes the preparation for front mounting of a computer on the stem.

Lightweight monocoque frame with Sram Rival eTAP components

The basis of the Orca is the newly developed OMR carbon frame, which weighs just around 1000 grams. The modern monocoque construction uses the bladder molding process. It ensures that no wrinkles and irregularities occur in the carbon mats and thus always as little raw material as possible is consumed. The rear end, which is set low on the seat tube, provides a vibration-damping effect that helps the rider's muscles tire less quickly. The frame and fork offer freedom for mounting tires up to 32 mm wide. The M31 eTeam is equipped with Sram Rival eTAP AXS electronic shifting, which changes the 2 x 12 gears with lightning speed and 100 percent precision. Hydraulic disc brakes grip regardless of the weather and safely. Other goodies: Lightweight Fulcrum Racing wheelset with thru axles, Prologo Scratch racing saddle and a carbon seatpost.
