Orbea is one of the few manufacturers who seriously devote themselves to the development of mountain bikes for children and young people. Because there's more to it than just "shrinking" an adult MTB. The affordable Onna series was planned and built from the ground up with children in mind. With a frame height of around 35 centimetres (approx. 13 inches), the Onna 27 XS Junior gives kids from around 8 years of age the opportunity to ride a mountain bike with 27.5-inch wheels. The biggest advantage is obvious: the larger the wheel diameter, the easier the bike rolls over bumps and obstacles. Second advantage: As a rule, the child can ride such a bike for a longer period than just one or two years. In addition to the height, all other geometric dimensions of the aluminium frame have been adapted to the anatomy of children. Especially important are the top tube length (reach) and the overhang height (stack). The latter is crucial for safety when the child has to dismount quickly off-road. The manufacturer specifies an upper age limit of about 14 years, although this value is very individual.
