The Laufey hardtail series could also be described as the "Swiss army knife" in the Orbea range. A classic, uncomplicated twentyniner with an incredibly versatile range of uses. Just get on and go off-road is the motto. Today, the Laufey can be a fun trail bike, sporty, agile and a strong climber. And tomorrow a comfortable touring bike, ready to experience a new adventure. And it can also be the interface between a youth and adult bike. Because with a smallest possible frame height of around 38 centimetres (S = 15 inches), girls and boys from around 14 years of age can enjoy the riding comfort of a 29-inch mountain bike. In detail, the age of entry naturally depends on the individual inside leg length and body size of the rider.
The heart of the Laufey is a first-class aluminium frame with a silhouette all of its own. A striking feature is the upper end of the seat tube, where it forms a small triangle with the top tube and rear triangle. This construction provides enormous torsional stiffness. Cables running inside the tubes provide a clean, uncluttered look. The geometry is adapted to a suspension fork with 140 millimetres of travel, which is generous for this class. In the H10 version, a Marzocchi Bomber Z2 provides sufficient reserves in rough terrain. The 29-inch wheels with 2.6-inch wide Maxxis Forekaster tyres are pretty much the best for a hardtail in terms of rolling comfort and traction. Racers and pro riders also appreciate this. We can recommend the combination of Shimano SLX 12-speed gears and low-maintenance Shimano Deore disc brakes without reservation. Another special feature are the high-quality, tuned OC components (Orbea Custom) from our own company. This also includes the exclusive telescopic seat post with which the Laufey H10 is equipped ex works.
Founded as early as 1840, when it was still a gunsmith's shop, Orbea has been one of the most important traditional bicycle manufacturers in Spain since the 1930s. Based in the bike-crazy Basque country, the company's philosophy has always been to be close to the sport. Fans know the legendary atmosphere on the roads when the Tour de France makes a detour into the Spanish Pyrenees. Numerous professional teams in MTB and road cycling trust in the quality of bikes from the Basque Country.
