The Orbea Kimu isn’t just designed to get children from A to B; it teaches them to love cycling, lets them discover the world and write their own cycling story. From those first wobbly metres to exciting bigger adventures, Kimu embodies these values at every stage; it grows with them and provides exactly the right amount of support.

The Kimu is based on three pillars: the models are safe to ride, specially designed for children and robust.

• Safe: The Kimu models instil a sense of safety and control in every respect, right from the start. Thanks to their special geometry, lightweight frames and carefully selected components, they offer a playful riding experience that allows children to boldly explore the world of cycling from the very beginning.
• Child-friendly: The Kimu range is consistently designed for children, with adapted ergonomics, lightweight components and a geometry that allows children to sit naturally on the bike. There are handlebars with a smaller diameter, grips for small hands, short cranks, special saddles – and great attention to detail.
• Robust: With Kimu, Orbea applies the same standards of quality and robustness as it does to adult bikes. It can withstand the knocks and bumps that are inevitable in a child’s everyday life. Thanks to its sturdy construction and reliable components, it not only makes one child happy but can also accompany their younger sibling on rides. But the Kimu also grows with the skills and ambitions of the next generation.

The Kimu 27 H10 takes children out on the trails, featuring MTB components such as the Marzocchi Bomber Z2 suspension fork, the dropper post and the robust 1x12 Shimano Deore gear system, just like adult MTBs. The Kimu is available in two different wheel sizes (24” and 27”), tailored to different age groups. The Orbea Kimu 27 is ideal for children aged 9 to 12.

Well-thought-out design for children

An aluminium frame, internal cable routing and special protectors for the drivetrain make the bike quiet and robust. The short, well-protected rear derailleur provides ample ground clearance. Every detail is tailored to the child’s stage of development. The bikes are lightweight to achieve an optimal balance between the bike’s weight and the child’s weight. They are equipped with hydraulic disc brakes, ensuring safe and effortless braking. Thanks to specific components such as short cranks, adapted grips and saddles, as well as smooth-operating shift levers, the Kimu models can be ridden intuitively and with control.

All models are based on the Big Wheel concept: thanks to proportionally larger wheels – comparable to 29” wheels on adult bikes – the bikes handle more smoothly and are more stable. This means children can ride at a steady pace and feel confident even on technical terrain.
