Orbea Denna M20 - The new E-gravel bike with premium equipment

Denna is the name of Orbea's new gravel bike series with E-support. With the Gain model, the Spaniards already have an E-racer in their range that can theoretically be fitted with 35 mm tyres for light terrain. The Denna now offers tyre clearance of up to 50 millimetres, which provides significantly more comfort on gravel. And there is another difference: while the Gain uses a compact Mahle rear wheel motor, the Denna relies on powerful MTB technology: its Shimano EP8 mid-motor provides support with up to 85 Nm of torque and also ensures perfect weight distribution on your off-road adventures. The OMR carbon frame has been completely redeveloped and offers a healthy level of damping with its intelligently shaped tubes. With its rather sporty geometry, the Denna is aimed at ambitious gravel riders who like to let it rip. Longer bikepacking tours are of course possible, but the mounting points for permanently installed accessories are limited to the main frame triangle: Two bottle cages and a frame bag are possible. However, no pannier rack and no lowrider bags on the fork.

The M20 version of the Denna is equipped with higher quality components than the M30. As is usual with Orbea: the lower the number, the higher the quality of the equipment. The gears and brakes are from the Shimano GRX820 groupset. Shimano's gravel components function reliably and precisely even under extreme off-road conditions. The tightly suspended rear derailleur absorbs vibrations and keeps the chain under tension at all times. The hydraulic disc brakes from the market leader have always been among the best in terms of performance and ease of servicing. Noble: In addition to the lightweight carbon frame, the handlebars and seat post are also made of carbon fibre. And the high-quality Oquo wheelset is fitted ex works with comfortable 45 mm tyres.

Shimano EP8 motor with Orbea RS tuning

With the EP series, Shimano has launched one of the best e-bike motors on the market. The top model EP8 comes in the 2nd generation with a torque of up to 85 Nm, which can be finely customised via the Shimano eTube app. This is made possible by the special RS firmware that Orbea has developed for the EP8. It also ensures that the motor can manage energy even better. The battery has an output of 420 watt hours and, thanks to its extremely slim design, has been integrated almost invisibly into the down tube. Thanks to RS tuning, long ranges are generally possible. But if necessary, the reserves can be increased by a further 210 watt hours with an optional extender battery. The extender is simply inserted into the bottle cage on the seat tube.
