The Orbea Alma series with carbon frame can be recognized by the M in the model name, followed by a number: The higher this number is, the cheaper the equipment of the bike within the series. Connoisseurs unmask the carbon models but already at the look at the frame - and may click their tongues appreciatively! Because here shows impressively the high manufacturing standard of the Spanish manufacturer. The organic shapes and flowing transitions are a feast for the eyes. Actually, too bad to flay such a noble hardtail over a CrossCountry race course. But for sporty mountain biking, the Alma was built, after all! Besides, such a light and zippy bike will animate you all by itself to accelerate.
There are two quality levels: It starts with the OMR carbon. The frames made of it bring just over 1000 grams on the scale. But the high-end frames made of OMX Carbon set the standard even higher with an incredible 830 grams. The monocoque manufacturing process uses the bladder molding method. It ensures that no wrinkles and irregularities occur in the carbon mats and thus as little raw material as possible is consumed. Clever details: the developers have made sure that the frame offers sufficient tire clearance. So you can put on wider tires than the 2.20-inchers supplied as standard if you wish. It also comes with a universal UDH derailleur hanger, which can be easily procured in the event of a defect. And the Orbea ICR system ensures that the cables run smoothly and free of rattling noises inside the frame.
In the M51 version, the Alma comes with race-proven RockShox Judy Silver TK suspension fork. Its Solo Air air chamber can be tuned particularly comfortable. 100 millimeters of travel are common in CrossCountry sport and make the front end not too spongy. The drive with Sram NX Eagle 12-speed gears works crisply and precisely. A pleasure during fast speed changes. Useful extra: The Vario seatpost you will not want to miss even on a CrossCountry hardtail. Maxxis Ikon tires provide grip when starting and in fast corners. And the 29-inch wheelset is prepared for the use of a tubeless system. Best conditions to outrun your competitors!
