The Orbea Alma series with carbon frame can be recognized by the M in the model name, followed by a number: The higher this number is, the cheaper the equipment of the bike within the series. Connoisseurs unmask the carbon models but already at the look at the frame - and may click their tongues appreciatively! Because here shows impressively the high manufacturing standard of the Spanish manufacturer. The organic shapes and flowing transitions are a feast for the eyes. Actually, too bad to flay such a noble hardtail over a CrossCountry race course. But for sporty mountain biking, the Alma was built, after all! Besides, such a light and zippy bike will animate you all by itself to accelerate.
There are two quality levels: It starts with the OMR carbon. The frames made of it bring just over 1000 grams on the scale. But the high-end frames made of OMX Carbon set the standard even higher with an incredible 830 grams. The monocoque manufacturing process uses the bladder molding method. It ensures that no wrinkles and irregularities occur in the carbon mats and thus as little raw material as possible is consumed. Clever details: the developers have made sure that the frame offers sufficient tire clearance. So you can put on wider tires than the 2.20-inchers supplied as standard if you wish. It also comes with a universal UDH derailleur hanger, which can be easily procured in the event of a defect. And Orbea's ICR system keeps the cables running smoothly and free of rattles inside the frame.
In the M30 version, the Alma comes with a RockShox SID SL, the number one race suspension fork. Their DebonAir air spring is specially adapted to the requirements of CrossCountry racing. Extremely low internal friction ensures sensitive response. About the legendary Shimano XT shifting does not need to lose many words. It is the benchmark when it comes to 100% precision. The transmission range covers everything from sport to tour. Maxxis Recon Race tires save weight and provide grip. And the 29-inch wheelset is prepared for the use of a tubeless system. Get the winner's podium!
Founded as early as 1840, at that time still as a weapons forge, Orbea has been one of the most important traditional manufacturers of bicycles in Spain since the thirties. Based in the bike-crazy Basque country, the company's philosophy has always been to be close to the sport. Fans know the legendary atmosphere on the roads when the Tour de France makes a detour to the Spanish Pyrenees. Numerous professional teams in MTB and road cycling rely on the quality of the bikes from the Basque Country.
