Hardly any other manufacturer besides Orbea offers such a wide range of models in the sporty CrossCountry segment. The Alma hardtails are the counterpart to the full-suspension Oiz and 100% fulfil the wishes of cross-country riders who, in addition to ambitious training rides, also have a mountain bike race or a marathon in their schedule from time to time. The Alma combines an efficient and comfortable riding position with high-traction 29-inch wheels. As usual with Orbea, the series is divided into H models with aluminium frames and M models with carbon frames. And: the higher the index number, the cheaper the equipment. The Alma M30 impressively demonstrates Orbea's high technical standard in the production of carbon frames. The OMR frame in monocoque construction uses the bladder moulding process. It ensures that there are no creases or unevenness in the carbon mats and that as little raw material as possible is used. The frame of the Alma M20 in size M weighs just 1100 grams. The ICR system ensures that the cables run smoothly and free of rattling noises inside the frame. Durability and thus sustainability are writ large at Orbea: A standard chain guard prevents the chain from falling inwards onto the bottom bracket and damaging the carbon structure. The developers have made sure that the frame offers sufficient tyre clearance - even for wider tyres than the 2.20 inch tyres commonly used in CrossCountry. Another clever detail: a universal UDH derailleur hanger is used, which can be easily procured in case of a defect. This version of the Alma M20 comes with a high-quality Fox Float 32 SC Performance suspension fork, DT Swiss X-1900 wheelset, precise Shimano XT 1x12 gears and reliable Shimano Deore disc brakes. Even the pros swear by the tyres from specialist Maxxis. A special feature of Orbea are the high-quality, tuned OC components from our own company. For example, the handlebar/stem combination was developed with a new, integrated design.
