The Orbea Alma series with carbon frame can be recognized by the M in the model name, followed by a number: The higher this number is, the more affordable the equipment of the bike within the series. Connoisseurs unmask the carbon models but already at the look at the frame - and may click their tongues appreciatively! Because here shows impressively the high manufacturing standard of the Spanish manufacturer. The organic shapes and flowing transitions are a feast for the eyes. Actually, too bad to flay such a noble hardtail over a CrossCountry race course. But for sporty mountain biking, the Alma was built, after all! There are two quality levels: It starts with the OMR Carbon. The frames made of it bring just over 1000 grams on the scale. But the high-end frames made of OMX Carbon set the standard even higher with an incredible 830 grams. The bladder molding process is used in monocoque construction. It ensures that no wrinkles and irregularities occur in the carbon mats and thus as little raw material as possible is consumed. Clever details: the developers have made sure that the frame offers sufficient tire clearance. So you're not limited to narrow CrossCountry tires. A universal UDH derailleur hanger is also used, which can be easily procured in the event of a defect. And the Orbea ICR system keeps the cables running smoothly and free of rattles inside the frame.

In the M21 version, the Alma looks classy and clean. Because except for the brake lines on the cockpit no trains disturb the image. The Sram GX Eagle AXS 1 x 12 shifting works wirelessly, and with the precision of a Swiss clockwork. The high-quality Fox 34 Float SC suspension fork is popular for its extensive yet uncomplicated adjustment options. Another highlight are the new OQUO Mountain Performance wheels with super-light carbon rims. The rims also have an asymmetrical cross-section, which ensures a more uniform spoke tension. Of course, also suitable for tubeless systems! Comfortable 2.40-inch tires from Maxxis take the edge off bumpy trails.
