Hardly any other manufacturer besides Orbea offers such a wide range of models in the sporty CrossCountry sector. So if you're more of a competition type, or if you're generally performance-oriented when it comes to biking, then you should take a closer look at the models in the Alma series. The Alma hardtails are the counterpart to the full-suspension Oiz and 100% fulfil the wishes of cross-country riders who, in addition to ambitious training rides, also have a mountain bike race or a marathon in their schedule from time to time. The Alma combines an efficient and comfortable riding position with high-traction 29-inch wheels. As usual with Orbea, the series is divided into H models with aluminium frames and M models with carbon frames. And: the higher the code number, the cheaper the equipment. The heart of the Alma H20 is the frame made of hydroformed aluminium. This means that the shapes and wall thicknesses of the tubes are fluidly adapted to the stresses that occur at specific points. This can be seen, for example, in the top tube, which is wide and transversely oval at the head tube and merges smoothly with the slender seat stays of the rear triangle. The frame in size M weighs just 1650 grams. The developers made sure that the frame offers sufficient tyre clearance - even for wider tyres than the 2.20 inch tyres commonly used in CrossCountry. Other clever details: a universal UDH derailleur hanger is used, which can be easily procured in case of a defect. The ICR system ensures that the cables run smoothly and free of rattling noises inside the frame. In this version, the Alma H20 comes with RockShox Judy Silver TK suspension fork, reliable Shimano Deore/SLX 1x12 drivetrain and Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. Even the pros swear by the tyres from specialist Maxxis. A special feature of Orbea are the high-quality, tuned OC components from our own company. The handlebar/stem combination was developed with a new, integrated design. This is complemented by the lightweight OC1 tubeless-ready wheelset.
Founded as early as 1840, when it was still a gunsmith's shop, Orbea has been one of the most important traditional bicycle manufacturers in Spain since the 1930s. Based in the bike-crazy Basque country, the company's philosophy has always been to be close to the sport. Fans know the legendary atmosphere on the roads when the Tour de France makes a detour into the Spanish Pyrenees. Numerous professional teams in MTB and road cycling trust in the quality of the bikes from the Basque Country. We are pleased to be able to offer you Orbea bikes from now on in the Rabe webstore and in our branches.
