Austrian premium manufacturer KTM is an expert when it comes to off-road two-wheelers. So it was only logical that the cross specialists expanded their range a few years ago to include a new, special gravel bike line. After all, gravel biking is far more than just a trend. In principle, the gravel bike is actually the most versatile type of bike. You can ride it on almost any road, from asphalt to gravel. Even forest paths and trails can be ridden, whether sporty or more enjoyable. At the start KTM is with two model series, one with aluminum frame and one with carbon frame. The aluminum models come from the X-Strada 20 with a lightweight carbon fork. In both series you will find different equipment options for every budget.
The Pro differs from the normal X-Strada 10 mainly by the drive group: The Shimano GRX circuit comes in the Pro in the 1 x 12 version, so with a single chainring on the crank. In the MTB now standard, single drives are also becoming increasingly popular on gravel bikes. On the one hand, you save weight on the bottom line, on the other hand, this makes awkward gear changes between two chainrings a thing of the past. And thanks to twelve available sprockets, the range of the transmission hardly suffers. The service-friendly GRX disc brakes bite reliably under all weather and terrain conditions. The equipment is completed with KTM Parts, which are also characterized by smooth operation.
During the development of the frame, a high all-round suitability was in the foreground. The geometry is a healthy mix of sporty and comfortable, so that from daily use in urban areas to fitness training and multi-day gravel adventures, everything is possible with the X-Strada. The versatility is also evident in some details: the rear triangle and fork blades are wide enough to accommodate tires up to 48 millimeters wide. Threaded eyelets at the appropriate positions allow the mounting of accessories such as water bottles, mudguards, lighting system and luggage rack. In addition, a LowRider luggage rack can be screwed onto the fork.
