KTM Gravelator 10 – The Gravelator 10 with Shimano GRX 2x12 Drivetrain
The Gravelator has long been known in the KTM lineup. However, for the coming season, everything is different. First, the frame has been completely redesigned. Second, the series has been expanded by numerous models. From now on, every rider will truly find their dream gravel bike at KTM—at a very attractive price-performance ratio, both in the carbon and aluminum versions. The updated, modern geometry offers a perfect blend of sportiness and comfort. The aluminum models, thanks to a higher head tube, provide a slightly more upright riding position. The basic equipment includes everything a gravel bike needs: robust components, wheels with off-road-ready tires, and numerous mounting points for bikepacking accessories. For everyday cyclists, commuters, and touring riders, the Gravelator is also available from the factory with lighting, fenders, and a luggage rack.
If you plan to use your gravel bike frequently on asphalt in addition to gravel and forest paths, you should take a closer look at the Gravelator 10. Instead of a 1x11 drivetrain—which is becoming increasingly common on gravel bikes—KTM equips this version with a traditional double chainring crankset, plus a front derailleur and a second shift/brake lever, of course. While the resulting 2x12 gearing may have a few overlapping ratios, overall the gear steps are more finely graduated than on a 1x11 setup. This is an advantage on the road and still works very well on gravel. The GRX components come from market leader Shimano, guaranteeing precise performance.
High-quality frames made of aluminum or carbon
In the price segment up to around 1600 euros, the heart of the Gravelator is a high-quality 6061 aluminum frame. Bikes in this category are labeled with numbers—the smaller the number, the higher the quality of the model. In the Pro series, starting at around 1700 euros, KTM introduces the entry into the carbon class. The model ranges continue upward with the designations Elite, Master, Prime, and Exonic. Gravel bikes with carbon frames offer particularly high comfort thanks to their vibration-absorbing properties. The name KTM also stands for excellent workmanship when it comes to carbon frames. By the way: all Gravelator bikes feature a carbon fork—even the aluminum entry-level models! This is by no means standard. Additionally, the rear triangle always comes equipped with a nearly indestructible UDH derailleur hanger.
