The S5 focuses on aerodynamic performance and stiffness, making it a preferred base for the world's fastest sprinters. Don't think that's all, though - despite the lateral stiffness, the S5 offers an incredibly comfortable ride. No doubt you've noticed the now legendary V-Stem. We've tweaked this shape to deliver the best possible performance in the wind, hide the cables inside, and make enough bar/stem/stack options to fit pretty much everyone.

When you hop on an S5, you won't just ride fast, you'll feel fast. The stiffness of the frame, geometry, build, and tube shapes combine to make a bike that's comfortable enough to spend all day on the road, but responds to last-second acceleration better than anything else. It's suitable for 28mm tires, so you can mount the newer, wider rim/tire combos that help give you an even greater aero advantage.

Aerodynamics is at the heart of everything we do at Cervélo. The company was founded with the goal of making bike racers faster, and aerodynamics is the best way to achieve that goal.Cervélo's system application includes the aerodynamics of the bike, the rider and all components. A bicycle never rides by itself. That's why no bike is tested without the rider. This means that these bikes are not only fast in the wind tunnel, but also out on the road with you as the rider.
The stiffness of the S5 is every sprinter's dream. Through a combination of materials, shape and layup, we've designed the S5 to be stiffer at both the steering head and bottom bracket. The former provides predictable handling, the latter ensures that more power is transferred from the rider to the rear wheel. To be able to adjust the wheel optimally to your size, you can optionally purchase different stem lengths and handlebar widths.
