Tacx FLUX S - Riding experience like on the road

Garmin has set new standards with its indoor cycling subsidiary Tacx. The FLUX S smart trainer is the result of years of experience in the development of home trainers and cycling accessories. What started in a small bike store in the Netherlands has now become one of the biggest success stories in the cycling industry.

The FLUX S Smart has become one of the lowest vibration, most robust and durable home trainers on the market thanks to its thoughtful design. The FLUX S is capable of up to 1500 watts and brakes at 65N. The design of the popular trainer also allows it to simulate inclines of up to 10%. The trainer needs to be adjusted to the rider once with spin-down calibration and then reliably communicates measured values - such as power, speed and cadence - with a deviation of less than 3%.

Furthermore, a dynamic inertia simulation is used in the FLUX S Smart. This controls inertia (up to 22.8kg or 50.3 lbs) and compensates for weight, speed and lean angle, creating a realistic riding experience. In order for the FLUX S to realistically replicate a downhill run, it requires an external power source, which may range from 110 to 240 volts. The power plug for this is included in the scope of delivery.

Compatibility and autonomy

Nowadays, smart trainers are virtually required to be as compatible as possible. The FLUX S Smart is not only compatible with training apps such as TrainerRoad and Zwift via Bluetooth and ANT+, it also offers you the possibility of combining with several devices at the same time. The advantage of Tacx trainers here is the connection with Garmin, because if you have a Garmin bike computer, you can also save your ride data there. You can also use more than 100 high-quality videos in the Tacx training app to have even more riding fun. If you don't want to use these features, just use the autonomy mode. When the FLUX S is not connected, it simulates riding on flat roads while the resistance increases due to a higher riding speed.

The FLUX S Smart is compatible with all common gear systems (Campagnolo, Shimano, Sram). Basically, up to 3 chainrings with 22 to 53 teeth can be driven in front. On the supplied freewheel body fit 8-11 compartment cassettes from Shimano and Sram. The home trainer is therefore not compatible with a Shimano or Sram 12-speed cassette in its standard delivery. For a Sram 12-speed cassette, a Shimano 12-speed cassette and a Campagnolo drive, a Tacx freewheel body must also be purchased. The size of the cassette may be between 10 and 40 teeth.

The FLUX S designed for all common axle systems. The adapter kit leaves both the possibility to use the home trainer with a 5mm quick release, as well as with 12mm thru axles with up to max. 148mm width. The FLUX S is not suitable for the Specialized SCS system.

Cassettes Availability

Like all manufacturers of bikes, bike parts and accessories, Garmin / Tacx is also affected by the ongoing difficult supply situation on the market. Therefore, the FLUX S Smart is no longer delivered with a cassette. This can be purchased from us additionally, depending onavailability.
