Garmin has set new standards with its indoor cycling subsidiary Tacx. The FLUX 2 Smart-Trainer is the result of years of experience in the development of home trainers and cycling accessories. What started in a small bike shop in the Netherlands has now become one of the biggest success stories in the cycling industry.
The FLUX 2 Smart is the direct evolution of the FLUX S and has become less vibration, more robust and resistant and more powerful. The FLUX 2 can now deliver up to 2000 watts and brake with 120N. Due to the further development, inclines of up to 16% can now also be simulated. The trainer has to be adjusted to you once with the spin-down calibration and then reliably communicates measured values - such as power, speed and cadence - with a deviation of less than 2.5%.

Furthermore, the FLUX 2 Smart uses a dynamic inertia simulation. This controls the inertia (up to 31.2kg or 68.8 lbs) and balances the weight, speed and incline angle to create a realistic riding experience. In order for the FLUX 2 to also realistically simulate a downhill run, it requires an external power source, which can range from 110 to 240 volts. The mains plug for this is included in the scope of delivery.

Compatibility and autonomy

Nowadays, smart trainers are almost obliged to be as compatible as possible. The FLUX 2 Smart is not only compatible with training apps such as TrainerRoad and Zwift via Bluetooth and ANT+, it also offers you the possibility of combining with several devices at the same time. The advantage of the Tacx trainers is the connection with Garmin, because if you have a Garmin bike computer, you can also save your ride data there. In addition, you can use more than 100 high-quality videos in the Tacx training app to have even more riding fun. If you don't want to use these features, simply use the autonomy mode. When the FLUX 2 is not connected, it simulates riding on a flat road while the resistance increases due to a higher riding speed.

The FLUX 2 Smart is compatible with all popular gear systems (Campagnolo, Shimano, Sram). The included freehub body fits 8-11 speed cassettes from Shimano and Sram, Shimano 12-speed road bike and SRAM SX & NX 12-speed cassettes.

The home trainer is therefore not compatible with a Shimano Micro Spline or Sram XD/XDR 12-speed cassette in its standard delivery. For a Sram 12-speed cassette, a Shimano 12-speed cassette and a Campagnolo drive, a Tacx freehub body must be purchased separately.

The size of the cassette may be between 10 and 45 teeth. Depending on the rear derailleur and chain length, it may also be larger.

The FLUX 2 is designed for all common axle systems. The adapter kit allows the home trainer to be used with both a 5 mm quick release and 12 mm thru axles with a maximum width of 148 mm. The FLUX 2 is not suitable for the Specialized SCS system.

Cassettes and freewheel bodies

Like all manufacturers of bicycles, bicycle parts and accessories, Garmin / Tacx is also affected by the ongoing difficult supply situation on the market. Therefore, the FLUX 2 Smart is no longer delivered with a cassette. This can be purchased from us additionally, depending on availability.
