UDH is the abbreviation for Universal Derailleur Hanger. It is an attempt to standardise the design of a derailleur hanger and eliminate hundreds of existing standards. Today, each bicycle brand designs its own derailleur hanger and may have several incompatible derailleur hangers for its own models. If you apply this idea to hundreds of bike brands, you have a very big problem if you as a rider break your derailleur hanger and need to find a replacement part. The UDH is an axle-specific derailleur hanger that is similar to some existing derailleur hangers but has some performance improvements.
