The Shimano SM-SH56 are high-quality SPD clipless pedals with multiple release directions. The multiple release makes it possible to release the pedals not only by turning the heel outwards, but also inwards and upwards. This ensures easy handling while riding and quicker disengagement in emergency situations, which is why these plates are also suitable for beginners. However, they are therefore not so suitable for very sporty riding and very hard and fast off-road use.

The cleats are cold-forged and specially heat-treated to increase their strength and resilience.
The SM-SH56 cleats ensure a reliable connection between shoe and pedal, which enables efficient power transmission and improved riding dynamics. Their robust construction makes them particularly durable and resistant to the demands of off-road riding.

Fitting the SM-SH56 plates is simple and straightforward for shoes with a 2-hole system. This version comes with a counter plate, which is used as a counterpart for the bolts on some shoes without pre-fastening.
