The Silex series is Merida's gravel bike line-up. A versatile road bike that is also not too shy for an excursion on gravel or forest trails. Its modern, MTB-inspired geometry with long head tube and top tube as well as short stem guarantees agile, confident handling.
In this version of the Silex, the Silex 7000, you can look forward not only to a lightweight carbon frame, but also to a robust and lightweight Shimano GRX 2x11 gear system. The road bike gears, specially developed for gravel bikes, are not only reliable, they are also indestructible because they combine design elements from Shimano MTB gears. Just like the gears, the Shimano GRX 810 hydraulic disc brakes never let you down, even in mud and muck. The Maxxis Rambler tyres with a width of 38mm help you reach high speeds on the road thanks to smaller centre lugs at high air pressure, and the side lugs provide you with traction off-road at lower air pressure. There is no better choice for gravel bikes!

Frame details

Merida uses a lightweight carbon frame for the Silex 7000, which is produced with long and complex laying processes and then checked. This results in a comfortable and at the same time agile bike frame. Because nowadays a gravel bike is not only a sport, but also a travel adventure, the Merida Silex is equipped with 3 bottle cage mounts, a rack mount and mounts on the fork for e.g. Frontrunner bags. Durability has also been taken into account; the cables and cable sheaths have been routed into the frame so that they are optimally protected from wind and weather. To make servicing easier and to increase lateral stiffness, the bike is equipped with 12mm thru axles.
