Kona Mahuna - Perfect mix of all-round hardtail and fun bike

The manufacturer Kona is one of the pioneers at the beginning of the MTB boom in the eighties and nineties. The brand stands for fine mountain bikes with a high play and fun factor. Kona bikes also set visual accents with their unique design to this day. The spirit of Hawaii always shines through in the models across all price classes. Especially uncomplicated hardtails like the Mahuna represent the Kona brand to the point. The driving fun is in the foreground. Trail surfing instead of dogged training.

The Mahuna is quite similar to the classic Kahuna, and not just in name. You could say the Mahuna is a slightly slimmed-down Kahuna. It is based on the same, high-quality processed aluminum frame. The RockShox Judy Silver at the front is easily tuned thanks to air chamber. 100 millimeters of travel are ideal for a versatile range of applications. Add to that the excellent rolling comfort of 29-inch wheels and the traction of the race-proven Maxxis Forecaster tires. The Shimano Deore rear derailleur and the low-maintenance Shimano disc brakes are among the absolute carefree components on the market.

Finely crafted aluminum frame with progressive geometry

Kona was one of the first manufacturers of sloping frames. That is, with the top tube sloping backwards. This design provides great leg and stride clearance for safe and comfortable off-road handling. This design has proven itself to this day and is partly responsible for the zippy handling of Kona hardtails. Tuning tip: With a telescopic seatpost, the Mahuna is even more fun in technical passages. The installation is done quickly, because the frame is prepared with internal channels for such an upgrade.
