The manufacturer Kona is one of the pioneers since the beginning of the MTB boom in the eighties and nineties. The brand stands for fine mountain bikes with a high play and fun factor. The equipment of the Lana'i pleases with inexpensive but functional components: The integrated shift-brake levers operate 2 x 8 gears. Typical Shimano, the gear changes flow smoothly even in the entry-level groupsets. And above all, the range of transmission thanks to 2-speed chainring is large enough for serious touring. Uphill, the high-quality WTB tires provide plenty of grip on the trail. Downhill, Tektro disc brakes keep the pace in check, while the Suntour suspension fork brings calm to the chassis.

Customized wheels for every frame size

Kona was one of the first manufacturers of sloping frames. That is, with the top tube sloping backward. This design provides great legroom and crotch clearance for safe and comfortable off-road handling. And thanks to the graduated wheel diameters depending on the frame size, the handling of the Lana'i always remains agile: Thus, the XS frame comes with 26-inch wheels, the S and M sizes are equipped with 27.5-inch wheels and the L and XL frame sizes roll on 29-inchers.
