The Kahuna has always been one of the most popular bikes in the Kona line-up. A no-frills hardtail MTB that simply made you grin on the trails. Kona has now transferred this spirit to the El Kahuna, where El stands for electric. Specifically: a Shimano STEPS E6100 motor, powered by a 504-Wh battery. That sounds like moderate power in comparison - but that's exactly the idea behind it! Kona wants to bring back the natural riding feeling with the El Kahuna. More bike, less motorbike. And once you've tried it, you'll realise that even a motor with a torque of 60 Nm can provide decent support. If you really need it. The Kona-typical sloping design of the frame with a steeply sloping top tube has also remained. This ensures legroom and the well-known agile handling on the trail.

The El Kahuna comes as a classic twentyniner, equipped with reliable Shimano components. The STEPS E6100 motor is not only small and compact, but it also weighs only 2.8 kilos. And is thus one of the lightest e-bike motors on the market. Of course, this has a positive effect on the agile riding feel of the El Kahuna. Its slim design ensures natural leg guidance when pedaling. The three support levels are operated via a classic thumb switch in conjunction with a compact SC-E7000 display, which sits well protected next to the stem, inside on the handlebars.
