Haibike Lyke CF SE - The new lightweight class of e-bike pioneers

The German manufacturer Haibike made history in 2010 with the presentation of the first e-bike ever. And virtually triggered a boom with it. If you look at the new Lyke CF SE under these auspices, you can definitely say that Haibike has created another milestone. The Lyke model series blurs the boundaries between mountain bikes with and without e-drive in an impressive way. This is made possible by a newly developed carbon frame, which in the CF SE version is equipped with the lightest and finest components that the market has to offer. These include Mavic carbon wheels, a carbon handlebar, Shimano and Sram parts and not least the extremely compact FAZUA drive.

Weighing less than 19 kilos, the Lyke CF SE is a featherweight among e-fullys. The concept is aimed at bikers who want to be sporty on the road and therefore use the e-drive basically more economical. The ratio between motor and own power is thus shifted toward the rider. The bottom line is that the motor and battery require less space, which pays off in the Lyke's slim frame. At the same time, you by no means have to do without a potent chassis. On the contrary, the high-quality Fox suspension elements offer 140 millimeters of travel and make the Lyke a modern all-rounder that rides as light-footed as a conventional trail bike.

Quiet FAZUA engine for powerful performance in the smallest of spaces

The concept of the innovative FAZUA motor is a perfect fit for a lightweight e-MTB like the Lyke CF SE. The compact unit sits almost invisibly above the bottom bracket in the frame. The FUZUA RIDE 60 delivers a maximum of 60 Nm of torque to the crank and is powered by a 430-Wh battery. By comparison, the motor and battery together weigh 4.6 kilos, which is only slightly more than the motor alone in other models. The ensemble is completed by a ring-shaped, ergonomically designed control element on the brake lever mounting bracket, as well as a minimalist LED display in the top tube. The row of lights informs about the battery charge status and also includes the Bluetooth interface to the FAZUA smartphone app. With the help of the software, among other things, the three support modes can be fine-tuned and individualized. Among them is an automatic mode that smoothly adjusts the strength of the assistance to the pedaling power. Never before has e-bike performance felt more natural.
