Giro Artex MIPS – Going the distance

The fit is luxurious and secure, thanks to the versatile Roc Loc 5 Air Mips® system, which allows you to customize the fit and feel for great stability and long-distance comfort, while providing additional protection against rotational forces in the event of an oblique impact. The outer shell is molded from a durable polycarbonate that has been permanently fused to the EPS foam liner in our In-Mold construction process to improve durability and ventilation without adding bulk.

MIPS - What is it?

MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) is an advanced helmet technology that plays a decisive role in protecting against oblique injuries. An additional sliding shell in the helmet reduces the rotational force acting on the head and brain. This minimises the risk of head injuries, especially during sporting activities such as cycling, where oblique impacts are particularly common. MIPS helmets offer improved protection and increase the safety of the helmet wearer.

• HARD SHELL WITH IN-MOLD HARDBODY™ LOWER WRAP – The two-piece shell combines a rugged outer hard shell with a polycarbonate lower shell that is fused to the inner liner for durability without added weight.
• INTEGRATED MIPS® BRAIN PROTECTION SYSTEM – All Giro helmets are designed to reduce as much energy as possible and meet and exceed strict safety standards. The goal of Giro's Integrated Mips helmets is to reduce rotational forces. Giro believes that helmets with this technology can reduce the rotational force that can be transferred to the rider's brain in certain impacts.
• ROC LOC 5 AIR MIPS FIT SYSTEM – This revolutionary fit system adds a new dimension to helmet performance by improving cooling, fit, comfort, and stability. With its patented design that allows the helmet to float slightly above the head, Roc Loc 5 Air Mips allows cool air to flow directly over your head. This optimizes the performance of the vents and internal channels that dissipate heat from the helmet. The fit and comfort adjustment options are similar to those of the Roc Loc 5 Mips. You can customize the fit tension and forward and backward tilt with just one hand in seconds.
• WIND TUNNEL VENTILATION – Giro helmets feature our proprietary Wind Tunnel™ ventilation system. This sophisticated design combines active vents in the helmet shell with exhaust channels inside the helmet that move cool, fresh air over and around the rider's head while simultaneously expelling heat and stale air to the outside.
