MIPS – what is it?

MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) is an advanced helmet technology that plays a crucial role in protecting against oblique impact injuries. An additional sliding shell in the helmet reduces the rotational force acting on the head and brain. This minimises the risk of head injuries, especially during sporting activities such as cycling, where oblique impact falls are particularly common. MIPS helmets offer improved protection and increase the safety of the helmet wearer.
