Hardtail mountain bikes have a long tradition that goes back to the early nineties. Boring? Not at all! With the Raven series, the manufacturer Focus has brought this tradition excitingly into the here and now. With lightweight carbon frame, modern geometry and different equipment, depending on budget and demand. The good thing about it: No matter which Raven you choose, you always get the high-quality Carbon Technology frame, which also gives Focus so much reputation in the racing circus. Upgrades in the components are therefore possible at any time. Thanks to a thoughtful fiber layup on the seat tube, head tube, seat stays and bottom bracket, the frame is laterally stiff, but dampens vibrations in the vertical direction. Although this does not turn a hardtail into a fully, it does noticeably improve ride comfort. Another clever feature: with the help of rotatable headset cups, the steering angle can be varied by 1 degree. This makes the Raven even more versatile, from flowing to attacking. Finally, you can also contest serious cross-country races with the Raven.
The Raven 8.9 comes with RockShox SID suspension fork, the epitome of a lightweight and technically advanced race suspension fork. It offers 120 millimeters of travel and thanks to 35 millimeter thick stanchions a responsive steering response. The new DebonAir air spring is specially adapted to the requirements of CrossCountry sport. At least as typical for a bike in this class are the fast wheels from specialist DT-Swiss. With the mounted Maxxis Rekon Race tires they become real pacesetters in the fight for the podium. The Sram GX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain always provides the right gear from Tour to Race. The Level TLM disc brakes also come from Sram. The components of the US manufacturer enjoy a high reputation among racers because of their crisp performance. The Raven 8.9 gives you a high level of safety even in demanding terrain. Thanks to a 180 mm disc on the front wheel, you can rely on powerful braking power on steep descents. Likewise, a lowerable seatpost belongs to the factory standard equipment.
