Hardtail mountain bikes have a long tradition, dating back to the early nineties. Boring? Not at all! With the Raven series, manufacturer Focus has brought this tradition excitingly into the here and now. With lightweight carbon frame, modern geometry and different equipment, depending on budget and demand. The good thing about it: No matter which Raven you choose, you always get the high-quality Carbon Technology frame, which also gives Focus so much reputation in the racing circus. Upgrades in the components are therefore possible at any time and also make sense. Thanks to a sophisticated fiber layup on the seat tube, head tube, seat stays and bottom bracket, the frame is laterally stiff, but dampens vibrations in the vertical direction. Although this does not turn a hardtail into a fully, it does noticeably improve ride comfort. Another clever feature: With the help of rotatable headset cups, the steering angle can be varied by 1 degree. This makes the Raven even more versatile, from flowing to attacking. Finally, you can also contest serious CrossCountry races with the Raven.
The Raven 8.8 comes with a high-quality Fox 34 Float Rhythm suspension fork. The suspension elements of the suspension specialist Fox are popular because of their extensive yet uncomplicated adjustment options. With 120 millimeters of travel, the fork also offers some reserves for rough trails. The legendary Shimano XT 12-speed gears are the benchmark when it comes to 100% precision. The transmission range covers everything from Tour to Race. The service-friendly Shimano SLX disc brakes decelerate reliably in all weather conditions. Thanks to a 180 mm disc on the front wheel, you can rely on powerful braking power even on steep descents. When the terrain becomes challenging, you will also be pleased about the lowerable seatpost, which is already included in the Raven 8.8 from the factory. For a clean look, Focus has developed the C.I.S. system, where the cables are routed below the stem in the frame. And speaking of racing: RaceFace wheels with Maxxis Rekon tires are also trusted by many professionals.
