The new Jam bridges the gap between all-mountain and enduro. With 150 mm travel, modern geometry and the F.O.L.D. rear triangle from the Jam² E-Bike stands here a completely new platform. This revision of the Jam has become significantly more downhill-oriented on paper.
Components from the mid-range quality levels are used on the 8.9, such as the Rockshox suspension from the Performance class. Although a Rock Shox Revelation RC 29 Boost suspension fork and a Deluxe Select + shock are installed. Only air pressure, compression and rebound damping can be adjusted on the suspension elements. The components of circuit and brakes come entirely from the US manufacturer Sram, with a mixture SX/NX Eagle for the shifting and Sram Guide T for the brakes.
I.C.S. (Integrated Compartment Solution) - On the top of the down tube there is a small cover that is secured by a pressure lock. Under this cover is a storage compartment where small items and snacks can be stowed (the I.C.S.). An included pouch secures the luggage and prevents rattling. This feature is becoming more and more common. Such a storage compartment is a real plus for riders who would like to do without a backpack or a hip bag and transport as much equipment as possible on or in the bike. A multitool, spare tube, mini pump and a few bars find space in the storage compartment.
C.I.S. Stem - Cockpit Integration Solution is what Focus calls the concept of the stem, which leads the cables and wires above the handlebars into the frame. This makes for a somewhat tidier look on the handlebars, but also increases the technical effort involved in adjusting the handlebar height and replacing cables and lines. The cables run in the C.I.S. through the handlebar clamp, above the handlebar and steerer tube and then bend laterally off into the head tube. Through this guide, the stem effectively sits a little lower on the steerer tube. This design requires a little more space for the stem clamping and thus causes a lower handlebar height.
