Equipped with the powerful SRAM Rival eTap AXS 2x12 groupset, shifting is wireless, precise and lightning-fast, ensuring immediate and precise power transmission. Meanwhile, the extremely lightweight DT Swiss carbon wheels significantly reduce the overall weight and, thanks to their stiffness, ensure excellent acceleration and improved aerodynamics. Together with the Vittoria Corsa Next Tubeless Ready tyres, they give this high-performance sled optimum grip and efficient power transfer while at the same time noticeably reducing rolling resistance. The bike is equipped with reliable SRAM Rival disc brakes including 160 mm brake discs to ensure you come to a safe stop even on steep mountain passes.

Frame and design

The centrepiece of the Focus Izalco Max 9.7 is the innovative Max Carbon frame, which offers a harmonious combination of extreme stiffness and high comfort. Thanks to the specially developed arrangement of the carbon mats at strategically important points such as the seat tube, head tube and bottom bracket, the frame remains extremely laterally stiff, which makes power transmission direct and extremely efficient. At the same time, the ingenious design ensures that vertical vibrations are effectively damped, which noticeably increases comfort on long rides and reduces fatigue. The well thought-out frame geometry also guarantees safe and stable handling that always remains confident and predictable, even at high speeds.

Furthermore, Focus has designed the frame in such a way that all cables run invisibly inside with the help of the clever C.I.S. system. This not only ensures a clear, tidy look, but also improves aerodynamics and enables easy handling. The robust thru-axle system also ensures a precise fit of the wheels and prevents the brake discs from rubbing, which leads to increased stability and control and ensures a smooth, carefree riding experience overall.
