It is the favourite of ambitious touring bikers and alpine crossers. Completely redesigned, it sits perfectly on the trail and the small contact surface of the Airstripes back system ensures the best ventilation with optimum control. The functional division and the large, fold-out organiser compartment ensure order and a clear overview. With its 26 litres of capacity and lightweight construction, it is perfect for multi-day excursions in the mountains. The helmet holder is quick and easy to use and the pump compartment is easily accessible from the outside. The new back system offers improved ventilation due to a smaller contact surface and more flexible shoulder straps provide more freedom of movement.

This model is available as an SL version, which is specially designed for shorter and narrower backs. On average, women do not have quite as long a back as men. The carrying system of the SL models is therefore slightly shorter than that of the Deuter standard backpacks. In addition, the carrying system with its slightly wider hip belt is adapted to the female anatomy. As not everyone conforms to the norm, women's styles can fit men well and men's styles can be comfortable for some women.

Choosing the right back length

With the Trans Alpine, it is important to choose the right back length to optimally distribute the load and relieve the back. The Trans Alpine is available in slim fit, regular fit and extra long fit. In the right size, it fits close to the body and can be worn almost like a piece of clothing.

Do I need the SL Fit?

• For a body height of approx. 160 - 175 cm  
• For a back length of approx. 42cm (+/- 2cm)

Typical body proportions for SL Fit are:

Technologies

Airstripes: 3D AirMesh lined shoulder straps. Anatomically shaped, they guarantee comfortable range of motion. The chest strap further secures the fit. Breathable mesh wings on the hip belt stabilise the load. Two contoured layers of nubby foam with AirMesh lining and minimal back contact ensure maximum air circulation. Flexible aluminium stays within the foam profile can be bent to fit the back precisely. (Bike I, Superbike and Trans Alpine).
