Taking the inspiration from the range of adult mountain bikes, CUBE created a proper off-roader in miniature. Its front and rear V-brakes - operated by levers designed specifically to suit small hands - show that the Cubie 180 SL is every inch a real, junior mountain bike. The chain guard keeps the transmission safely hidden, and the Schwalbe tyres are just like the ones fitted to mum or dad's mountain bike. The handling is designed to be both fun and safe, and you can rest assured that, like all the CUBE bikes, this one has passed our in-house safety tests with flying colours.

Frame

Youngsters may be small, but we know they're capable of giving their bikes a really hard time. That's why we've given the Cubie 180's frame and fork as much attention as we do our adult frames. The light, strong 6061 alumimium that we use is built into a structure that's easy to ride, but tough enough to withstand plenty of young enthusiasm and energy - and the odd mishap, too. It's every inch a real mountain bike, just stripped down to the bare essentials.
