Say hello to our brand-new Compact Sport Hybrid - a Bosch e-bike that re-writes the rules of urban mobility. Powered by Bosch's quiet, powerful and sporty Performance drive unit and 500Wh battery, we fitted Shimano's reliable 10-speed derailleur gear system for its ease of use and wide range - enough to tackle any hill with ease. You'll be amazed at the simple, intuitive way the Bosch system takes your pedalling power and adds to it, taking the stress and sweat out of riding and turning it into a simple everyday pleasure that's both healthy for you, and good for the environment. The rugged, easy step-through frame fits riders of all sizes thanks to the easily adjustable saddle and handlebar positions, while compact 20in wheels mean it's zippy and manoeuvrable out on the streets, and compact and easy to store at home. We fitted mudguards to help keep you drier when the roads are wet, and it's fully compatible with front and rear luggage carriers so that you can easily carry all your day-to-day stuff around with you. There's even the possibility to mount a lock, so you've got peace of mind when you have to leave it outside a shop or office for a short while. And, of course, powerful disc brakes work safely and predictably in all weathers, ensuring you're always in full control. Building the Compact Hybrid - one-size-fits-all urban hybrid for the 21st century - demanded a completely new approach. To design a compact, durable, easy-to-ride and versatile bike that would slot easily into a busy lifestyle, our engineers began by building a compact frame around 20in wheels. The simple, cross-braced down tube is elegant, stiff and strong. It also makes the Compact Hybrid easy to step in and out of, as well as providing a convenient carry handle. The long head tube ensures accurate steering, whilst the smooth and powerful Bosch drive unit lives neatly in a custom housing at the bottom of the frame, and we located the battery behind the seat tube, close to the bike's centre of gravity and out of the way of both luggage and the rider. Quick saddle and handlebar adjustments allow one bike to fit a wide range of riders, too. It might not usher in a revolution in urban transport, but we like to think it's part of the solution.
