Technologies

• Vectran: Vectran™ is spun from the liquid crystal polymer Vectra. This produces a thermoplastic, multi-fibre yarn. By comparison, this semi-crystalline fabric is more cut-resistant than aramid and has five times the tensile strength of steel. A Vectran™ breaker is lighter, more flexible and provides more effective protection against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. Rolling resistance is not negatively affected.
• Duraskin: Tyres with DuraSkin® sidewall protection really pack a punch, because they are used in the most adverse conditions. Whether in rough terrain, on a crosser or gravel bike. On messenger bikes, the tyres slide along kerbs, on touring bikes they cross entire continents without wearing through and in racing they prove themselves in tough tests such as Paris-Roubaix. The high-quality polyamide fabric reliably protects the sidewall of the tyre. Tyres with DuraSkin® can be recognised by the characteristic brown sidewall.
