The Scalpel HT has been redesigned from the ground up for 2022. The bike was developed for use at the highest speeds, for maximum pedalling efficiency and long-distance capability. Cannondale uses its Proportional Response Design technology to achieve this. This means that not only the main frame grows with each frame size, but also the chainstays become proportionally longer. This means that you always sit in a central position on the bike. Furthermore, Cannondale has kept the steering angle flatter compared to its predecessor. The 67° steering angle combined with a longer wheelbase, central seating position and the 100mm XC suspension fork RockShox SID SL Select+ provide extremely high stability and control on descents. The Scalpel HT Carbon 3 is equipped with a powerful Shimano Deore brake system and 1-finger brake levers. This allows you to brake even later on every turn. The high-quality mix of XT and SLX shifting components and the steep seat angle of 74.5° will get you up every climb. However, if your preferences lie more in the cross-country course or long distance, a 34T crank is used on the Scalpel HT Carbon 3. Another decisive detail is the integrated wheel sensor. It helps you to read out speed values, route data and kilometres in the free Cannondale app. It also helps you register your frame and reminds you of service intervals. No compromises!
Ever since the American manufacturer was founded, racing genes have been part of the development of Cannondale frames. The international successes in gravel bike, road bike or mountain bike competitions speak for themselves. Therefore, it is no wonder that the Scalpel HT frame also comes up with some finesses while Cannondale, as always, delivers the highest carbon quality. The chainstays, for example, grow with the frame size, but are designed with SAVE technology (Synapse Active Vibration Elimination) in such a way that, in combination with the seat stay, they cushion and effectively filter out smaller bumps. This is an active advantage, especially on long rides, because this design saves energy and prevents premature fatigue. The greatest highlight of the Scalpel HT frame is its weight: 895g is an impressive figure. This makes it one of the lightest hardtails in the world. The rear wheel is attached with a 12 mm thru axle and can be loosened quickly and easily with an hexagon socket. Practical, because smaller fixes can also be carried out on the road! In addition, the cable guides are routed inwards so that the cable sheaths are optimally protected. The first owner of a Scalpel HT has a lifetime frame warranty after registration with Cannondale.
