The variety of models these days often makes it difficult to precisely define areas of use. We think it makes little sense to specialise a mountain bike to the extreme. Who wants to put an extra bike in the garage for every kind of tour? That's why the Cannondale Scalpel Carbon SE 1 corresponds exactly to our idea of a sporty all-rounder. It is designed for competition-oriented riders, but has the genes of a modern trail bike with which you can also have a lot of fun. Cannondale has given the frame a relatively flat steering angle, which brings smoothness to the chassis. This trick ensures maximum control on fast, flowing trails, but also allows you to master technically demanding passages with confidence. Without the front wheel getting nervously off track. Even "hard" CrossCountry riders are now aware of the advantages of a Fully chassis. For example, traction: on the Cannondale Scalpel Carbon SE 1, the rear wheel maintains much better contact with the ground than a hardtail. The chassis follows the contours of the terrain and hardly slips. This allows the rider to sit more calmly in the saddle and does not tire as quickly. In addition, the rider's drive power is converted very evenly into propulsion.
In typical Cannondale fashion, the Scalpel is packed with innovations. Take the frame, for example: BallisTec technology comes from the military, where similar carbon structures are used for armour. The frames withstand tens of thousands of load cycles without signs of fatigue. Nevertheless, the frame weight of around 1900 grams including shock is a challenge to any hardtail! Thanks to the patented FlexPivot rear triangle, the 120 millimetres of suspension travel feel like much more. The easy-rolling 29-inch wheels also contribute to this. Clever detail: A sensor integrated in the front wheel documents riding data and reminds you of service intervals. Cannondale's Ai technology (Asymmetric Integration) is also unique. The special geometry of the rear triangle ensures extremely short chainstays and at the same time increased tyre clearance behind the bottom bracket. Because wide tyres and the right air pressure are the key to outstanding performance.
