The Jekyll combines innovation with customisation. Well, almost. The bikes are not exactly tailored to your body dimensions, but very precisely to your size and your body's centre of gravity. Unlike pretty much every other manufacturer in the world, Cannondale not only tunes the geometry to the different frame sizes, and we're not just talking about a longer main frame here, but also the kinematics of the rear triangle. In short, this means that every rider, no matter how big or small, gets the optimal riding experience on the Jekyll. Cannondale calls this adjustment of sizes and kinematics "Proportional Response Design".
The rear triangle of the new Jekyll looks pretty funky at first with the additional idler pulley and extra-long chain, but it combines the latest technologies with old tried-and-tested four-link design. The raised pivot point of the rear end ensures that the rear wheel moves out of the way when overcoming obstacles, resulting in a smoother rollover compared to conventional rear ends. The raised Idler Pulley Wheel with Chain Guide ( = Guidler) eliminates negative drive influences on the rear triangle and prevents pedal kickback when compressing.
The new rear triangle and progressive geometry speak a clear language. Downhill is where the Jekyll shines the most. With a massive 170 mm at the front and 165 mm of travel at the rear, there is little to stop the Jekyll from moving out of its comfort zone. However, a steep seat angle and neutrality against drivetrain influences still allow the bike to climb very well.
The Americans have been building very high-quality carbon frames for a very long time. They are proud of the quality of their frame construction and confident about the durability of the frames. That's why Cannondale also offers the new Jekyll with a lifetime warranty.
