Early Rider Hellion 24" - High quality kids hardtail for heating up the park and more

There is hardly any other bike manufacturer who, like the English smithy Early Rider, is exclusively concerned with the needs of children and young people. And certainly not in such a high quality! We admit that this quality has its price. But if you are looking for a mountain bike that is suitable for your child, of high quality and unique in terms of performance, there is no getting around the Early Rider models. Uncomplicated, highly functional and stylish. These three keywords could accurately characterise the Hellion 24. While parents attach particular importance to the first two terms, the latter is particularly important for kids. Let's face it, this BMX-style racer looks simply mega cool. But the Hellion Hardtail is by no means only suitable for shredding in the bike park, even though the Early Rider boys predestine it for it. And who has a park right in front of their door? No, the Hellion 24 is a super all-rounder that can do everything from trails to tours. And much easier to maintain than its full suspension counterpart Hellion X. The basis is a triple-butted aluminium frame, which is manufactured to the same high quality as a competition hardtail for adults. At the front, an RST suspension fork with a 100 millimetre travel animates the rider to heat over stick and stone. The equipment is as modern as on dad's bike: 1x11 drive with Shimano SLX gears, hydraulic Shimano Deore disc brakes, wheels with solid thru axles and fat 2.25 inch tyres.

Child friendly equipment and as little weight as possible

The Early Rider Hellion 24 weighs just over 10 kilos. Compared to an adult bike, this does not sound particularly spectacular. But you have to search a long time for that among children's bikes! The weight plays an important role here: on the one hand, children do not yet have that much power. On the other hand, their body weight to bike weight ratio is unfavourable. Compared to a child, an adult would have to ride a 25 kg bike! Easy Rider does everything right here.

Our size tips

Whether a child's bike fits depends on two measurements: The inseam length (inside leg length) and the body height. The following values are for orientation. We recommend visiting one of our branches and trying the bike together with the child.

  • Recommended age: 7 - 11 years
  • body height: 130 - 145 cm
  • Step length: from 65 cm (= overhang height of the frame)
