Cannondale SuperSix EVO 2 – The attack on the top class
One thing is certain: even in its fifth generation, the SuperSix EVO remains one of the fastest racing machines in the road scene. Pro teams like EF Education First have celebrated numerous victories at the Tour and Giro aboard the SuperSix EVO. But the US manufacturer Cannondale never rests on its laurels and has continued refining the frame’s construction and aerodynamics. The result is the lightest carbon frame the Americans have ever built. And thanks to the outstanding aerodynamics of the tube shapes, you gain valuable seconds when pushing the pace.
That’s a bonus anyone is happy to take. Despite its strong focus on performance, the developers have also paid close attention to comfort. After all, only those who sit relaxed in the saddle can cover long distances without fatigue. Specifically, the frame is designed to absorb vibrations. The SuperSix EVO perfectly supports you in every aspect of road cycling, from training rides to competitive racing.
In the EVO 2 specification, the SuperSix has plenty to offer: the electronic Shimano Ultegra Di2 2 x 12-speed drivetrain guarantees 100% precise gear changes with minimal finger effort. The low-maintenance hydraulic Ultegra disc brakes also come from market leader Shimano. With perfect modulation, they ensure you return safely to the valley from every Alpine pass. The DT Swiss carbon wheels stand out with their striking look and rapid acceleration thanks to their aerodynamic design. Additional carbon components such as the handlebar and seatpost further reduce weight.
Cannondale frame construction – Carbon at its finest
Since the 1990s, Cannondale has been regarded as a pioneer in carbon processing. This immense expertise is reflected in the latest EVO generation. The various layers of carbon fiber sheets are shaped with absolute precision—individually tailored to each frame size. This ensures that every rider benefits from optimal stiffness and maximum efficiency.
The aero profiles are optimized in the wind tunnel, recognizable by the organically flowing transitions between the tubes. The seat tube flattens toward the bottom bracket and acts like a leaf spring, reducing vertical impacts. Another comfort-focused feature: the rear triangle and fork offer enough clearance to accommodate 32 mm tires. All cables are, of course, routed internally within the frame, preserving the bike’s clean design.
